Sorry to bring up this problem again, but I never saw a good answer to it.
It is referenced in this previous thread.

If I’m missing some simple setting let me know, but when I turn on Depth of Field this very pronounced banding/glitch appears.

    It’s easy to recreate.

    HD Comp
solid layer (make it light gray it shows up a lot more) make 3d
    make Camera
    turn on depth of field
    put camera on an angle
turn the blur level up quite a bit to 950%

It will show up in the lower right corner

    (here is the camera info)
    Camera Options Zoom
    1866.67
    Camera Options Focus Distance
    2290.41
    Camera Options Aperture
    17.7165
    Camera Options Blur Level
    percent 950
    Transform Point of Interest
    X pixels Y pixels Z pixels
    752.412 659.678 -157.189
    Transform Position
    X pixels Y pixels Z pixels
    82.2217 1305.76 -1775.17

Do you just see the banding when you preview in After Effects, or do you see it in output files, too?

It’s on the full resolution renders.

I’m having the same problem in preview and renders (attached). I have tried outputting at a color depth of 32 bit but I don’t have enough memory to create the blur. Please help.
