    Hi everyone,
I tried to shoot a scene with an Italian espresso coffe moka pot (a Bialetti like THIS) but the smoke is not as white and dense as I’d need.
Is there a trick to obtain that white dense smoke you see in commercials or something similar?
Thanks a lot for your help.

We used to do a lot of food cinematography (still some, but not as much)…

Whenever we needed something like that we used steam chips, a staple of the food photography business.

I think they probably have them at Trengove Studios…

Oh, we’ve also used tobacco smoke… cigar smoke especially is thick and white. We’ve run tubes to the places we need smoke to appear, and gently blow the cigar smoke through.

It’s wacky, but it works. And gives the stage the smell of a poker room.
