  Dell won’t recognize some camcorders

  Running Avid Xpress Pro 4.6 packages on 10 new Dell 700 Series computers. Of four camcorders – 2 Sony VX-2100s, 1 Sony VX-2000 and a Canon GL-1, only one of the VX-2100s is recognized by three different Dell machines. The other three cameras fail to be recognized by the Dell operating system which, of course, means that the Avid application won’t recognize them, either. Any ideas?
  (Troubleshooting was performed with the same Firewire cable.)
