I’m trying to figure how to delete a selection of video in Vegas 7 and import into the timeline. I didnt see how to do it in the manual.

    Delete or Copy?
If you have a long video clip and you want to add a section or sections to the timeline, one of the ways to do it is to open it in the Trimmer (right click > open in Trimmer).

You can drag along to define the section you need or hit the I and O keys for in and out points.

Hit the ‘a’ key and it gets added it to the selected track on the timeline.

To delete a “section”, this would include ALL tracks:
Move curser to the starting “In” point and press the letter “I”, then go to the “Out” end point and press “O”. This should give you a highlighted section, then press the “delete” key.

Import to timeline can be done a number of ways. One is to just drag it there. Two, depending how you have your “preferences” set up, you just double click or hit enter on the video event in project media. I have my “preferences” set up so when I double click or hit enter the video goes to the trimmer first so I can choose what portions of that event I actually want to go to the timeline.
