Deleting “flat line” audio lines from Vegas
In the attached image, I’d like to delete all the “flat line” audio lines and just leave the lines with a great amount of sound. Is there a quick and easy way to doing this? I’d appreciate a reply. Thanks a bunch!

Is your main problem with the flat line audio the disk space it wastes, the slight background noise it may contain, or the visual clutter?
(I’m assuming you wish to keep the video above the flat line audio. Correct?)

Hey Mel, Thanks for you reply. I don’t wish the keep the video within that specific time frames, and it’s the timing where the audio lies flat. In other words, if 0:15-0:40 contained flat lines, I wish to delete it along with the video that is within that time. Thanks.

After looking at the other posts in this forum, I realized I may have posted in the wrong forum.

Click on the event where the flat line starts and hit the s (split) key. Then do the same at the end of the flat line, then click somewhere in the flat line area and hit delete. Then drag the two remaing events together.

Hey Danny, thanks for your reply. I tried that technique you advised me on, but isn’t it essentially the same as adding markers and clicking the middle to delete it?

Yes it’s the same thing, different method. If you understand both methods, what are you having problems with?

Are you looking for some automated tool which will identify the flatline sections and perform the cuts for you? I don’t know if such a tool exists. I use Danny’s technique myself, with the added handy device of turning auto-ripple on which connects the pieces automatically. -
Mel, yes I thought such automated tool would exist! I’ll go with Danny’s technique then. Thanks Mel for the clear cut response!
