hi, when i use PPro and export, there are too many presets to choose from. How can i delete or remove many of them.
Specifically under H264 – i’d love to get rid of everything apple, and a few others…
    any ideas ?

    thanks.

Make your own presets, they will be listed at the top.

What Ann said is best. Keep the system presets – you never know when you might need one. Save presets with names of your own. They will show above the system presets in User Presets and Groups. Then you can group them into folders as you choose. They are then easy to find, easy to use.

    Good Luck!

Hope I don’t have typos in my post… stupid ads keep covering the box I’m typing in!

why would i make my own presets when i can use whats there?
why should i have to click, click, scroll, wait, wait, click EVERYTIME i need a preset?
Oh, and when i choose H264 the list opens at some random point in the middle, so i have to scroll up as well as down…

There must be a list somewhere, which i can edit…

[Jonny Webb] “why would i make my own presets when i can use whats there?”

Because if you save the system presets you use a lot as user presets they are always on the top of the list.

That’s alright. Some people don’t care about better options, what they want is what they want.

So here it is… OP didn’t say what OS or version of ME, this is for Mac.

    Macintosh HD/Users/User/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Adobe Media Encoder/Whatever version you have/PresetCache.xml
    Edit to your heart’s content.

    Good Luck!

    Thankyou – thats the answer

    For Win7 (CS6)
    C:UsersnameAppDataRoamingAdobeAdobe Media Encoder6.0
    PresetCache.xml

I dont know what version the other poster uses, but my h264 opens in the middle, so even having my own at the top would still require scrolling up. And scrolling is *only* possible by click&hold on the little arrow (not mouse wheel, not shortcut).

This will make my life easier. thanks again.

Or…select the preset in the media export settings, then click on the trash icon (3rd icon to the right).

    Mac / CS6
