Deinterlacing prior to compression?
I am trying to understand how I can deinterlace video prior to compression. Some codecs do not seem to have a deinterlace choice and I am wanting the video deinterlaced. 3ivx would be a good example. I like the job this codec does, and it looks good on TV, but I want to render some videos for playback on the computer. I think I am over my head here. Is there a filter or plug-in that I am not aware of, or is this just not possible with certain codecs. If this is the case, how can I get the best deinterlaced video compressed for PC viewing?
