Alright, I’m a new user of Sony Vegas 8. I’m working on several videos of frisbee dogs (lots of movement) for YouTube and I’m having a heck of a time getting it to look good. The video is shot with my Canon NTSC ZR500 and captured in Vegas. The interlacing looks really bad so I’m trying to deinterlace but it doesn’t seem to work.

I change the settings on the project properties to field order: none (progressive scan) and the deinterlace method to interpolate. Should I expect the video to change in any way after I change the settings? (Because it doesn’t…) When I go to the render as menu and select wmv (what I have been using for YouTube) it doesn’t have any deinterlacing options. When I go to the render as menu for avi it does have a field order option.

The problem is when I render it it’s… not deinterlaced. What’s up with this? Is there some setting I should be checking when I’m capturing my video? If anyone needs any more information about the files or anything, let me know… I’m new to this program and the interlacing is making me tear my hair out.
