  • Deinterlacing and slow motion in CS5

    In Premiere CS4, I could apply “always deinterlace” on an interlaced clip, then slow down to 50% and I had smooth true slow motion.
    When I do the same thing in CS5, the slow motion looks like it’s made by frame blending and it’s not smooth.
    How to fix that?

    In CS5, the trick is to NOT change anything under the “Field Options” menu. They’ve made the program smart enough to separate the fields and make full frames by itself. Just leave that on “None.” It’s a little confusing that the method has changed, but at least it takes fewer clicks now.
