deinterlace!!!
UPFRONT QUESTION: How can I deinterlace a couple of clips of video?
I’m working on adding some animation–nothing fancy–to a couple of clips of video that are going to be PROJECTED, like on a projector, as part of an art installation. I didn’t shoot the video. . .it’s ANNOYINGLY interlaced.
I’ve read other posts here advising not to mess with the default settings when it comes to project properties and interlacing. Left it alone, interlaced. Tried the two other scan methods–upper field first, progressive. . .plus blend AND interpolate fields–and it still looks ugly.
I know that other television screens–i.e. those that aren’t laptop screens–‘know’ how to treat the video to make a good image. BUT, this project is going to be running video off laptops to projectors. . .several cpus-to-projector arrangements, all linked up to run in sequence, to create a ‘gestalt’ of seemless video. . .or, that’s the plan. In any case, owing to needing to control the sequence, we can’t use DVD players.
SO. . .is there a chance I’ll be okay with this setup, even though the video is interlaced as hell? Or is there something else I can do.
I fiddled around with one of the clips, and managed to resolve some of this by doing a little vertical gaussian blur, but the other clip can’t afford to lose the definition.
. . .blah. . .
