  Defining one piece of footage with another?

  Hello all,

  Apologies in advance if I struggle to describe what I’m trying to do. I have footage shot on a black background of a character and I’m looking to produce this kind of effect with smoke footage defining the shape of the character (filling the shape of the character?). I want to still be able to see some of the character.

  

  Any ideas?
