Default Export Format. Plugin or way to change setting.
Posted by Josh Weiss on January 16, 2007 at 8:52 pmI use export using quicktime conversion very frequently and have a format that I use 95% of the time. However, every time I close final cut I have to redo the settings. Does anyone know how to change the default or a plugin that allows you to do this?

January 16, 2007 at 9:23 pmYes, I occasionally use compressor, but its ridiculous that you can’t change the final cut default. Its quicker and easier not to have to go through compressor.

Yes it is too bad
HOWEVER
What i have found to work best and fastest is to export out of FCP a self contained movie using default, which matches whatever your sequence is set to, and then use compressor to convert. why? cuz i can run compressor in the background while still editing, instead of waiting for compressor to finish.
i beleive , although i have not tried it yet, there is way to make a “droplet” that makes using compressor even faster.
hope this helps

June 21, 2011 at 8:21 pmagreed. i must export 150 still frames (not in sequential order) as png’s i set up markers for all the stills i need and hot keys 1,2,3 to got to next marker, copy the time code, exp-conv, save tc number as file name, and then manually pull the menu for still image. streamlined this grunt work for everything but the pull down menu. i have 300 more to do, total grunt work, did i mention that. and no, mac automator is not doing the job its supposed to – even after i delete the plist. i feel plist off. any one else have any input to save my day would be greatly appreciated.
