    I have a Dual 1Ghz G4 with a Decklink SP card and a Huge dual SCSI raid array.
    I also have a client who wants to shoot our next project with a Varicam DVCPro HD camera.

    We only have to deliver on DVD.

    I know that if we rent a Panasonic deck we can get the DVCProHD footage into FCP, but my question is about using an external monitor- if I hook it up to my Decklink card, will I be able to monitor the HD footage on my standard def. Sony monitor?

    And if not, can someone explain this paragraph from the Decklink website? I guess I don’t understand where in the process their downconversion takes place:
