  Decklink SP

  Hi there, I need to upgrade my small (very small) studio for a mid size project just in, and have been looking around the COW for some info.

  The project will be shot 100% in DVCAM and already have a DVCAM deck (DSR 45) to handle FW so no problem there but some old stock footage will arrive in BETA SP, and client wants masters in BETA SP also. I have a UVW 1800 BETA SP deck that I currently wire through the DVCAM analog connections but… maybe time for a DECKLINK SP?

  I have no need for HD at this time, and budget is “shallow” (as always) therefore I plan on buying a G5 to be the main machine where DVCAM footage (98% of project) will be edited and plug a DECKLINK SP into the G4 to handle the BETA SP deck for digitizing footage and laydown masters…

  Does this sound weird to anyone?

  I will also need more storage than what I have now, how about HUGE raid?
