Just installed a Decklink HD Single link card in a brand new dual 2.5 G5 with 4.5GBS of RAM.

The card seems to have issues. When playing out of Final Cut, the audio going through the card frequently distorts and/or goes out of sync. This is true of both the SDI embedded and the spdif out. If I switch my audio output to built-in, it’s fine. When I play audio out of iTunes or Quicktime through the card, it is also fine.

In addition, whenever I stop a Timeline that has been playing, the card stutters and the image and sound pop and waver for a second or two. This does not happen when I play the same video in the Viewer.

Both of these problems occur consistent across every Blackmagic Easy Set Up.

I tried reseating the card to no avail.

I am in a professional facility with 15 decklink pro workstations and 1 dual link HD. None of them has ever had an issue like this.

    Any thoughts?

I am foolish. After additional testing I have found that the visual pop and waver only occurs while playing out DV through Blackmagic NTSC DV video playback.

The audio problem only occurs when playing 23.98 DV out using Blackmagic NTSC 8 bit/23.98 video playback. Meaning that there is only an audio problem when I am using an unsupported hack.
