    Hello everybody.

I need some help here. On a brand new G5 with all the latest software from apple, 2 X 2.7ghz, 2.5 Gig Ram, Apple fiber channel card, and a brand new Xraid 5.6tb raid 50 and a decklink hd pro dual link. Install the 5.0b2 drives and was testing capturing HD from dvcpro hd thru the sdi hd. Here is what is troubling me. Using the easy set up for 720, 59,94fps 8bits, I was having a lot of dropped frames during capture, and when I added those clips on the time line and overlap them to add a dissolve I got the green bar, indicating the dynamic playback. When I checked the easy settings for the 720, 59,94fps, 8 bits, I noticed that it was using the uncompressed 4:2:2 codec not the blackmagic any more. So, my question; why I’m getting a lot of drop frames during capture and playback ?. I’m getting almost 300mb/s read and 200mb write on the drives. What I’m doing wrong ?.
On that same note, on a 2 X 2ghz, 2 gig ram, apple fiber channel, 2Tb Xraid, 10.3.6 and 4.8 drive, same thing, using the easy setup to capture thru HD sdi, 720, 59,94 fps, 8 bit, if I use the easy setup, I can capture fine, it looks like everything is fine until you playback the clip, when you playback the clip plays at double speed, what is wrong ?. I found a workaround that does not make sense, I would like some help on that as well, if I use the easy setup at 59,94fps, 720, 8 bits, that happens, but if I just capture using the 60fps, 720, 8bit, everything is normal. Why ?. Something needs to be fixed, and it’s a driver problem, as you can see that does not happen on the 5.0b2 drivers on my other system.

Sorry for the long post, I hope this can be solved soon and I would like to keep the community informed.

    Take care,

    Manuel Gonzalez

Don’t know what your issue is but I think I can figure out you problem on the easy setup “jumping around”. When you go into setup and select a codec or what ever, and close the window then go back into it, you will think you have gone to a different setting, but as you will see it’s just the default deal, kind-of strange but it’s really on what you have set it to be. Well it appears to be on mine, but I know what as you speak.
