I have a Decklink HD card (bottom base model) in a Dual 2GB G5. I am routing the SDI signal thru a AJA HDP box to a DVI connection on my Dell 2045. However, I am not getting an HD signal to the monitor. When I look at the DISPLAYS, the resolution displayed is 720×486, at 29hz. In FCP…it will show the image on the monitor, but it appears to be an SD signal. It is small and fuzzy.

I also connected from the decklink SDI out to the 1200HD in, and get no signal to the 1200HD.

The Decklink preference pane isn’t offering any insight. I am running the Decklink 5.2.4 drivers.

    Thank you,

I connected an HD Link and get the same thing…a small window on my monitor, and the DISPLAYS still say TV. So it appears as if this is stuck in downconvert to SD mode, but I cannot find how to get it out of that…

    Shane,

Check that your DeckLink card is not sharing the same bus (using slot 2 or 3) with another PCI card. That might make your HD card stop down to being an SD card.

It is in slot 2, as it cannot fit into slot 1. The heat sink bumps against the electronics above it. In slot 3 is a firewire card with 3 extra ports.

    so there you go
Actully if squeeze realy carefully you can fit into slot 1 or you can move the FW card to slot 1 and you should be ok

It wouldn’t go into slot 1. There was a set of wires and a plug that wouldnt give way. So I put the FW card in that slot, and kept the Decklink HD in slot 2 and now everything works.

    Thanks guys.

I have 4 G5 (2x 2,5ghz and 2x 2,7ghz) with exactly the same configuration. (same pci cards in same slots)
    https://img135.imageshack.us/img135/7864/picture18tj.png

I need all the pci ports (Fibre channel ATTO card, decklink HDPRO and a seperate ethernet card dlink for SAN metadata).

One ot the 2.5 and the two 2.7 have this problem (card recognised like an SD card), but the other 2,5 works !!!
How could you explain that ? Maybe an other version of the mainboard ? Do you have an idea to fix and to have HD capabilities on all my G5

    Thank you

    Jean-Baptiste
