Decklink HD Extrem output monitoring in AE looks bad
Hi
I have AE CS3 Professional on a Mac Pro with a Decklink HD Extreme card. I am sending an SDI signal from the Decklink card to an Decklink SDI to HDIM mini converter. And from the mini converter I am sending an HDMI signal to an Samsung Plasma Tv (PS50A)
In AE I am working with SD comps and footage.
Here come my problem, the output image from AE on my plasma looks very bad and the graphics is very jagged. I know i scaling up SD to an HD plasma, but it looks really bad. When i watch SD broadcast (televison) on the TV it looks good. Is the anything I can do to improve my SD output signal from AE.

With The BM intensity there’s a setting in the card’s control panel.
“Remove field jitter when video is paused”
that will probably do the trick with the HD Extreme too.cya,

if the problem is during playback, you might try connecting differently to the plasma…
does your plasma have component? i think the hd extreme has analog component out… this would remove the sdi-hdmi converter and any possible issues there…. or anything that might be happening going from sd comp to hd sdi to hdmi to hd tv, you could just be going go from sd component to sd component.

The “Remove field jitter when video is paused” is checked, so it is not that. I have tried other form of signals like composite and component, but that looks even worse.

just to make sure…
uncheck the “Remove field jitter when video is paused”
if it’s checked, the BM-card will deinterlace the AE signal,
even if it’s proressive.Are your movies ok when you render them and play them in FCP ?
