    Hi,

I have had a Decklink HD for the past couple of years. I’ve had it hooked up to a JVC SD CRT Production Monitor and have the Desktop Output active, with no problems.

I just purchased a JVC DT-V24L1DU HD monitor and have it setup with Desktop Output set at 1920×1080 in OSX 10.4.11 with version 6.2 BM Drivers.

I’ve done a separate HD installation with OSX 10.5, with version 6.6.2, but with the Desktop Output set at 1920×1080 I just get a black screen.

I’m not to bothered about OSX 10.5, I’d happily stick with 10.4, but I’m reluctant to upgrade to version 6.6.2 if I end up getting the same black screen under 10.4 as I do in 10.5.

Does anyone have any answers or clues to this?

    Hi Peter,

What about normal 1920×1080 output from Final Cut Pro’s timeline? Is that ok?

    regards

    Hi Kristian,

Thanks for replying, anything playing from FCP to the monitor is working fine under OSX 10.5, whether it be DV all the way up to 1080 (BTW, I’m in PAL land if that makes a difference)

I don’t have time now as work calls, but I’ll have another go with it a little later, do a reinstall see if that jogs it all into working.

For the moment I’m working off the 10.4 version for now, but as I say that is using older BM drivers. I would upgrade the driver and try that out, but I’m reluctant to change anything while it’s working.

    Thanks again.

    Kind Regards
    Peter

    Hi Peter,

Have a look at your Display prefrences again when you have time and see what frequency it is set to? The default output will be 1920×0180 at the refresh rate of 60Hz so if you’re in PAL land and using a display that only supports 1080 at 50Hz, you’ll need to switch the refresh rate.

Let me know if this helps.

    Hi Kristian,

There is no option for 50hz, but I’ve gone through the following list of resolution settings that are available under OSX 10.5…

    The following two work fine:

    720 x 486 29 Hz
    720 x 576 25 Hz

The following remaining options just give me a blank screen:

    1280 x 720 59 Hz
    1280 x 720 60 Hz
    1920 x 1080 23 Hz
    1920 x 1080 24 Hz
    1920 x 1080 25 Hz
    1920 x 1080 29 Hz
    1920 x 1080 30 Hz

Going back to 10.4 and trying the above settings again, I get a picture on all of them. I double checked the monitor manual and it lists all the above inputs as compatible.

    Regards
    Peter

Just as an update, I reinstalled the Blackmagic 6.6.2 drivers, but still have the same problem.

    Kind Regards
