I now have a spare 08′ Mac Pro with the ‘old’ Decklink Extreme 2 card in it. With another license it seems like it’d be a great backup or conform station.

Has anyone tried their old DL extreme card with Resolve yet?

I was able to use a basic Decklink SDI Pcie card on the Mac-Pro 2,1 and tried deck control and output to the Panny Plasma, both worked.

funny, i was just looking over at my old Mac Pro 2,1 DL2 system that I’m cleaning up for sale wondering if Resolve would just work on it. If it had an Nvidia in I’d have tried it today

I got our 2,1 3ghz 8-core to run with a gtx285 and the stock nvidia (9500?? or something) there is a Kext file which you have to download and install for the OS to recognize the GTX285 card and then it works, but GPU bandwidth is bottlenecked by the PCIe 1.0 slots….

Just sold that 2,1 waiting for a 4…
