decklink and hdv

Hi George,

I don’t know if software down conversion of HDV will be possible on any DeckLink cards including the DeckLink Extreme. My suspicion is that it won’t be possible but we won’t really know until we’ve had a chance to try. The DeckLink HD Pro 4:4:4 card includes hardware down conversion so I expect it will be able to HDV down conversion as soon as FCP5 is released. We’ll definitely post information in this forum if it turns out that software down conversion of HDV is a possibility with some or all DeckLink cards.
