Hey Guys, I have all the latest upgrades, OSX and FCP running on a G4 Dual Gig for over a month and everything has been running great, till yesterday and today.

My 3 button mouse, both the Wacom and MacNally have come up dead in the FCP Timeline. I was working along just fine….then my left button would not work in the timeline. The right button continues to select a clip and open the drop down menu, left button dead. It will drag around the window. The scroll wheel will scroll thru the viewer window.. What gives.. I have rebooted and everything is fine, then it happens again. My mouses (mice) work all other apps just fine… Thank God for auto save or I would loose everything cause it will not allow you to save.

HELP,,,, and yes I am about 2 minutes from being done with this Over due edit… Yikes

Have you tried to Trash the Preferences in FCP, yet?

My Logitech MX400 laser mouse stopped being able to move the cursor in FCP 5.1.4. I trashed prefs and restarted, and everything was back to normal. Hasn’t happened since.

This won’t be much help, but I think that FCP has some serious mouse issues. We have a new system-less than 6 months- and have the supplied “mighty mouse”. FCP randomly gets into a funk and drops clips whenever I stop moving the mouse (whether or not I have released the button). You can imagine, that I’ve messed up many, many edits by accidentally dropping a clip on top of another.

If anyone has insight into FCP’s mouse issues, I’d like to know too.

    Mike
