Been working to get my film out to the theater for a test audience screening I have this weekend, and am little concerned. Shot a DCP out of Premiere (2017.0.2) to Media Encoder, and exported while I went on a short trip. Used the Wraptor preset. Working with RED 5K footage, in a 2K timeline. Here’s the info I got back from Media Encorder

    – Output File: I:\DCP\DCP\DCPTest.dcp
    – Preset Used: Custom
    – Video: 2048×858 (1.0), 24.0 fps, Progressive , 01:47:00:00
    – Audio: 48000 Hz, Stereo
    – Bitrate: Target 250 Mbps
    – Encoding Time: 18:43:43
    03/10/2017 11:39:43 AM : File Successfully Encoded

Media Encoder was telling me to expect something close to 1.15 TBs. Instead, I got 13.4 GB. From what I’ve heard from others, they are all saying that the export should be closer to about 150GBs when all is said and done.

Did something go wrong here? Here’s what the settings looked like prior to sending it to Media Encoder:

Bring the mxf files to Premiere and see what you actually exported.

I dragged them into the timeline and the entire film seems to be there. Bringing in the audio, everything seems to work. I’m just being told by a few people here in town that I work with that “it seems tremendously small” for a 107 minute film. 14GB versus what they’ve been saying, around 150GB

Then there’s probably something wrong with the Wraptor exporter. I haven’t used it because I don’t really trust it. Try using EasyDCP or DCP-o-Matic.

    wow that is tiny.

I just did a 68 minute DCP and it clocked in at 28gb.

But i don’t use wraptor either.
