    Hello to all. I am brand new to the forum and to FCP.

    I have been using Premiere for a while and decided to switch.

    I have a Sony PMW EX1-R and I am using the Lockable Card Reader with Lexar SD card (as opposed to SxS) for recording. I formatted the card per Sony’s instructions.

    I cannot get the footage into the FCP preview screen no matter what I do.

    I have done the software updates and even downloaded a plug in from Sony’s website to try and fix the issue, but still nothing.

    When I play the footage in the camera, it works perfectly. When I import it to Premiere CS5 it works perfectly.

    Can anyone tell me how I need to set my camera settings and my FCP settings so I can get the footage in somehow? in .mov if possible?

    Thanks in advance,

    George

    You must install the “SONY transfer” application and read carefully this;

    Thanks, I did it, and 5 mins. later I was up and running.

    Thanks to all who pointed me in the right direction.
