I’m starting to grade a documentary on DaVinci PC (Beta version). It’s shot in anamorphic PAL 720x576i. I’m not able to get the output right from the Decklink Extreme 3D card to a Panasonic plasma. On “Input Scaling” settings none of the options stretch the image to the whole screen. It stays 4:3 although I have 16:9 set as pixel aspect ratio. It’s also 4:3 in DaVinci’s viewer.

To view the image correctly, I have set “Output Transform” from the Format tab to strech the image, with the “track” tab selected in order to apply the setting to whole timeline. Problem is that when I grab a still, it shows in 4:3 aspect.

Also DaVinci wasn’t able to import the clips as Prores, just shows green instead of the clip. The clips plays ok on Windows QT player and Blackmagic Media Player. Uncompressed seems to be the only working option, also DV pal QT showed just green in Resolve.

Are these problems related to the beta version, or is it just me?

Try right clicking the clip in the media browser or in the timeline and choosing change PAR (Pixel Aspect Ration)

Thanks, that helped for the aspect ratio. Still it sometimes outputs shots in wrong aspect ratio, and it gets corrected after a while. May be some issue with beta version.
