I am using DaVinci Resolve Lite 9 for mac and am trying to split a clip I was given for a short I am correcting. I go through the usual menu to select an EDL file and after it asks for the frames per second it just does nothing.

It was shot on a 5D mk 2 and was edited on AVID. The file is a quicktime DNxHD and my computer is a brand new iMac. I have attempted to install the codec package from AVID but it continues to fail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Resolve ships with the dnxhd support so u don’t need a seperate codec install. If u manually place the big clip into the media pool, can you play it?
If so, then try to use the edl for a preconform workflow. Details in the manual.

The problem is that Davinci only works with the DNxHD codec as long as it’s in a MXF container. It doens’t recognize the codec when in a QuickTime MOV file…

I thought 9.1.1 added dnxhd mov support
