The first thing that pops into my head is to export your footage as a filmstrip and import it into Photoshop. Perhaps set up some actions and then reimport back into AE.. These images are pretty cool.. I’ll have to try this myself.. 🙂

    “kis” it

You’re right maybe it’s the way to do this. If anyone has other ideas keep us post! I’ll try it and send some feedback.

    Thanks guys!

while i’m not blown away with the look, I thought it was interesting. The closest thing in AE to Photoshop’s High Pass filter is to combine equalize, find edges and emboss, then change the blending to vivid light. you can get very close to the look. The only problem is that all of that detail looks terrible on an interlaced monitor. I’ll have to play around a bit more to see if it can be minimized.

Au contraire, I love this effect.

    Im tryign different things.

Duplicate layer. On the first; find edge (invert) and a fast blur (1,0) + soft light
On the second one ; levels for more contrast, and hue/saturation (-28) for less colors.

I don’t know if it works with all situation (probably not) but it’s a first step. Still i’m very far from the look…

P.S: Thanks for the input sam.mltn

you might want to try channel mixer to turn things monochrome instead of hue saturation.
