    hi guys,

    anyone have a first hand experience on setting up a database server between a linux and a mac station.

    i have seen a link saying there is a software in linux dvd but yet to dig into it,would love to know from guys out here who has experience with it as we are planning to setup one.
    please share info if you have

    Hey Prathvish,

    If you drop us a mail we can help you out. Its quite simple with the Linux systems. Do you know how many machines would be accessing it?

    I’d normally recommend using a dedicated machine for the database if possible to avoid any slow down of your main machine.

    we are planning to use a dedicated system and wanted to know how to setit up and at present i have a free system which i can use i.e

    HPZ200
    Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X3450 @ 2.67GHz at 2667 MHz
    NVIDIA Quadro FX 580
    16GB Ram
    500GB Hardrive

    at present just 2 machines a linux and a macpro will be accessing it.
