Dark grey strokes

December 14, 2010 at 11:06 pmHello
I have an incredibly annoying problem in Illustrator. My black strokes aren’t black, but dark grey.
Using a normal tapered brush stroke with r:0 g:0 b:0 #000000 colour.
When I drag the tapered brush out onto the document it is the correct rich black. If I change the fill colour of the stroke to black, the fill also becomes the correct rich black. Only the stroke won’t go past dark grey.
If I remove the stroke, the basic line will also be the right kind of black.
In preferences both options for rich black is set to output all as rich black.
Any help is greatly appreciated

December 15, 2010 at 2:48 pmI had to change it from tints to “tints and shades” I have actually tried making new brushes with all other settings than “tints and shades”, and surfed the very edges of the solution, which makes it all the more annoying 🙂
You sir, just made my day. Thanks a million
