    Hello Dan,

first of all thanks for your hint in this post:

I was already on my way and tried according to your post. It works much better now but animating the rotation of the parented layers so it looks natural is pretty tedious work.
Since you are a master of scripting I wonder if there might be an easy way of setting the rotation of a child relative to its parent by scripting???
I was always not best friends with Mr. Math, so maybe you got a hint there?? 🙂

    Thanks in advance,

    Karim

OK – as an experiment – create a bunch of (7 or 8) 75×20 solids, move the anchor points to the left edge, line them up left-to-right so they make a continuous horizontal “pipe”, and make each layer the parent of the layer to its right. Then select all the layers and adjust the rotation all at the same time (-7 degrees should do). This should give you a nice arc. If this is the kind of look you’re going for, you could contect all the rotation properties to a single slider (via an expression) to control the shape of the arc.

You might need a more complicated expression, but without seeing what you’re doing, it’s hard to be more specific.

    Dan
