Damaged Video with XDcam Transfer
Hello all
I use a Sony XDcam camera, which works very well.
I use Final Cut Pro 7.0.3 with Snow Leopard 10.6.8Until last week, all worked very well.
But since 3 days, when I import the video with XDcam or FCP, the images seem damaged, with black flash (or black lines), and this images cant be used.I tried the same camera with the same version of XDcam (2.13) with another Mac (wich works with Tiger), and all is perfect…
So I deduce that the problem isn’t in the camera, nor in the XDcam Transfer, nor in the cable…I reinstalled XDcam Transfer 10 times, and OS SnowLeopard 2 times, but nothing changed…
Did you meet this type of problem ?
Have you some idea ?I thank you very much for your help…

If it’s as you describe it could be something in the Mac hardware (GPU etc) or it could be a conflicting QuickTime component (Zygo, Perian etc). If you’ve installed any special codecs try removing them one at a time from your QuickTime library. I seem to recall an issue like this when the demo version of the Calibrated plugin was installed with an older version of Transfer.
Also, if you download the Cinemon.mp4 trial (which allows you to open the .mp4 files directly in QT and import into FCP without re-wrapping) do the artifacts/lines persist?

I’m coming back for the reporting…
I tried Cinemon MP4, but my video files from the SONY XDCAM is MXF, not MP4, so thes action didn’t work…
I uninstalled Perian, but it was the same, so I install it one more time.
I installed the new codec quicktime proapps, but nothing…
I uninstalled my XDcan Transfer version and installed the newer, but nothing…So I don’t know where is the problem…
The camera works fine in my old Final Cut Pro with Tiger, so the problem comes from other element…
Maybe will try to use another system, in a firewire hard disk, but with the same Mac, and with the same version of softwares… If the problem is always here, it means the mac is out of order…Thank you very much for your help, and I’ll come back in few weeks to post a second report…
