  • Cut sequence of 1280 ftg in 720, can I go back?

Quick question – I’m working on a project that was shot on 2 different cameras (Canon 5D 1920×1280 24p) and the Panasonic HPX-170 (720 24N) and I’ve edited the sequence in the settings for the HPX (at 720) thinking I would just down-rez the 5D footage and output in 720. This worked fine. Here’s my question: I actually cut all of the HPX (720) footage so now I have all 5D footage (1280) in the sequence. If I just drag and drop it into a new sequence, it turns green like it needs to render. Is there a way to switch this or cut and paste it, back into it’s native size without having to render the footage? It seems to think that it is actually 720 just because it’s siting in a 720 timeline.

Sorry if I’m not making sense, ask for more info if it can help.

I’m working with the latest FCP Studio, Mac Intel Tower, standard set-up.

    Thank You!
