  • Cut & Paste slider expressions to new layers updating name links?

Is it possible to cut an effect and it’s expressions, and paste them on to a new layer (maybe in a new comp) and automatically update the expression links / name etc to the new layer?

If not built in, is there any handy scripts anyone is aware of that could look in it?
I’ve done a bit of research but not found anything yet.

In the same comp, I don’t see a need for any change in the expressions.

If your expressions are linked into some other property in the same layer, they will “retain” the relative links when copied to a new layer, i.e. will pick the values from the new layer they’ve been copied to.

Similarly, if your expressions are linked into a property in another layer, the expression is already linked to the right layer without any need for changing the values.

Linking to another comp is a different story.
