  • Cut list handle in Cinema Tool

    Hi

I’m an experimented FCP editor. I’m working on FCS1 with Cinema Tool to manage a DI workflow. I’ve got a feature that I’m trying to send to the neg cutter. He’s requesting that I give him 32 frames handles on the cut list. But Cinema Tool only allows up to 5 1/2 frames on each cut. How do I get handles up to 32 ? I’m looking for the easiest solution !

    Thanks

    Alex

You might try using transition handles. Set that to 32, then see if you get handles on each cut point.

If not, maybe throw a 1 frame transition on each cut, then use transition handles set to 32 to force that extra 32 frames.

You can put transitions on every cut by setting your default transition length, then selecting all in the timeline, then drag that selected timeline clip bunch over to the “overwrite with transition” overlay in the canvas.

Of course, you should do all this experimenting in a copy of the sequence.

    Thanks Steven !

I’ll try this once I know everything else doesn’t work… it’s an hour and fourty minutes film… I’m afraid I’ll have to recheck every transition to make sure they’re OK….

But thanks for the idea, it might be my way out !
