I have noticed that curve adjustments seem to work best if they are at the end of a node tree. Unlike the standard primary and three way color adjustments, once a curve based adjustment has been made, it seems that it is not possible to retrieve information after a curve adjustment has happened. For example, if you crush the blacks with either the lift adjustment or threeway shadows ring in node 1, you can effectively bring all of that back with a counter adjustment in node 2. However this does not seem to work with the curves adjustments. Also I have observed unpleasant artifacts, bleeding etc when placing extreme curve adjustments early in a node tree while these effects are much less or not present at all if at the end of a node tree.

Just an observation….hope it is useful to someone….

Very helpful, I insert node after first one to work around and now I know why.
    Thanks
