    Hi there,

I’m a Final cut pro 7.03 refugee in need of advice.

I was told by Nvidia that Premiere Pro CC 2014 would be CUDA ok using a Mac version of Nvidia GEForce 8800 GT 512. I am on a MacPro 2,1 8 Core.

I bought the card from a dealer who was aware of my needs (Premiere Pro /Mac etc) I installed the card, but it does not appear within Premiere as available for processing.

I called Adobe “Support” in India and, this time, dealt with a guy who sounded as if he knew what he was talking about – a rarity with Adobe.

He said that my Premiere Pro CC 2014 requires a card with over 1 gig.

Do any of you boffins have any advice?

    Many thanks,

    Harry.

PS. The Nvidia card is working just fine within my Mac and is installed in a 16x slot which shows me the desktop.

    The “support”-guy is correct.

Thanks very much for the reply. It’s strange that two Nvidia techs claimed the opposite. But I guess I’d better ditch this card and go back to square one. But you are equally certain that a 512 card is a no-go.

Ah well. I’d better go out and shout at cars.

I believe there is a workaround to installing Mountain Lion on an ancient MacPro (like my 8 Core 2,1), so perhaps I’d better start there.

Anyway, very many thanks for your time.

    Harry.
