  CS6 transcode/consolidate

  Hi all,

  I have a 2 minute project built in PP CS6. The bulk of it was shot RED Epic although there is some Cannon C300 (MXF) used as well. I’m working with the native footage in the edit.

  The graphics team that I’m working with is using AE CS5. They are compositing on pretty much every shot so I need to deliver them a CS5 AE timeline of the edit. I was successful in moving the edit to AE CS5 using a FCP XML and Automatic duck’s AE Pro import.

  The problem. They are not able to work with the RED footage in CS5 and have requested Prores 422 files. I do have Final Cut as well so access to the codec is not a problem.

  I’m a long time FCP user and was surprised that there is no Transcode/Consolidate feature in PP. Has anyone developed a workaround for this? If I consolidate the RED footage using the project manager and then transcode the footage using another program is there a way that I can possibly trick PP into relinking to the new PR422 files?
