  • CS6 — snap to artboard turned off?

Hi, everyone. I’m new here, although I’ve come here for information before. 🙂

I’ve seen quite a few posts about how to turn off snapping in illustrator. I have the opposite problem. Whenever I set up a new document in the past, objects would always snap to the artboard. For some reason, though, it seems like snapping has turned itself off, and I don’t know why. I want it to be on — I design book covers, so snapping to the artboard+bleed boundaries is very helpful for me. I have “snap to point” on by default; turning off “snap to point” and turning on “snap to grid” has not proved useful. “Align new objects to pixel grid” is turned off. I’m really at a loss. Can anyone help me?

Similarly, the amount that objects move seems to have turned off, too. (For instance, it used to be that when I dragged an image, it would show how far I moved it left/right/up/down). Now it doesn’t show that. I don’t know how to turn this back on, and it’s really hurt my work. Can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance!
