    Hello all,

Just imported a CS5.5 premiere project into a fresh clean install of CS6 and I am trying to get to work.

I have a bunch of 1080p prores footage. It plays choppy at full res, single stream. Maybe 3 or 4 FPS. When I render the footage, it still plays back choppy. It almost barely plays at full speed at 1/4 resolution.

I am working from a FW800 G-Drive with the media cache and library set to that drive. CS5.5 gave me no trouble with this configuration.

I have the fastest 2011 MBP with 8gb ram.

What the heck is going on? This must be a setting or something…

    Thanks all

    Cassidy

    Fixed the problem!

I had hardware assisted mercury playback enabled (CUDA) when I do not have a CUDA card. This is the default setting I guess. I changed it to software only in Project > Project Settings > General

WOO HOO! CS6 is screaming now.

    Cassidy,

Thanks for clearing up this issue. I just upgraded to CS6 and was going crazy trying to figure out what the problem was.

The program is working great now and can continue with work. Hopefully other people find this post as I have been on many others with related issues without a proper solution.
