CS6 AAF to Media Composer won’t relink to media
I know this is a long shot as we’ve never had any luck with it.
But I was hoping an AAF from CS6 to Media Composer would in some way link to the original media. But strangely it won’t
Whats odd is the AAF imports ok (with soem warnings about clip names as a clue) and I get a timeline with clips showing off line.
I can look at the source reference clips and timecode, clip name etc all match the original clips.
But if I do a batch import it prompts me for clip names with .new.01, .new.02, .new.03 etc appended to the end.
I can manually point to the original source clips and force an import and that works. But clearly these appended clip name extensions are whats preventing any sensible linking. But how or why is Premiere adding this metadata? I can’t see it happening anywhere in Premiere and I can’t see any trace of it in any of the Avid column headings.
Thoughts or is CS6 to Avid just not an option yet?
