CS6 (6.0.2) crashes on quit every time, any ideas?
Posted by Göran Thorén on January 10, 2013 at 11:04 amHi all!
A strange phenomena since about a week ago.
I have tried several projects, no Dynamic linked material so that could not be an issue.
Crashing on quit/close is of course not as bad as crashing when working on a project but still very enoying. Usually crashes like this has other underlaying issues which could be serious and I want to find out what it is.These are my specs:
OS10.6.8
2 x 2.66 GHz 6-core Intel Xeon
12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

January 11, 2013 at 10:21 pmFor Mac users, yes. Crash on Quit could be a number of things. You might try making sure you have the latest drivers, repair disk permissions and delete your preferences. If these things don’t work, an uninstall/reinstall might be in order.

January 15, 2013 at 1:53 pmThank’s for the suggestions!
I actually reinstalled Premiere and the crash occured again. I did the usual update process to the latest version and the application manager started it’s thing. During the update process I quit Premiere and this time it didn’t crash!!!???
But after the update was completed the problem is back…This is driving me nuts!

January 18, 2013 at 6:59 pmI’m having the same issue. I have a feeling it has to do with the kona lhi or that I’m running on a hackintosh

January 18, 2013 at 11:09 pmHmm… I don’t have a Kona card in mine and no hackingtosh either.
But I do have an Nvidia 4000. -

January 19, 2013 at 5:12 pmI have a Kona card in my HP Z820 and its solid as a rock. Also had one in my 2008 Mac pro.
Make sure you have the most recent AJA driver and AJA/Adobe driver.

January 22, 2013 at 5:45 pmI’m having the exact same problem except after I re-installed Premiere Pro instead of crashing every time it hangs and literally even a day later won’t close unless I force quit it.
I’ve never had this problem before, so it’s really frustrating.
I’m using Mac Pro 2010, OS 10.7.5 with 32 gigs of Ram, Nvidia 4000 Mac.
If you figure out what’s happening please share!
Best,
Dare

January 22, 2013 at 6:38 pmSorry to hear that you have the same problem.
I have discovered another thing that doesn’t work;
When I change the metadata on RED files in Red Cine X, the files doesn’t update in Premiere. I bet that is related somehow.
I’m thinking of removing the Quadra card to see if that could be the issue. I have experienced some other issues since I installed it. -

February 16, 2013 at 12:34 amSame issue here, pretty well every time I save and close Premiere Pro 6.x (always have the latest update) it hangs, lots of drive activity in the background too. I have to force quit it to get it to go away. I’m using a mac pro 2.8GHz quad core, so its by no means the fastest, 16GB ram, OS 10.8.2. It is annoying. I”m writing Adobe about it, suggest everyone else experiencing this do likewise:
