    Hello,

CS5.5 is not recognizing my Quadro 4000s. In the Project Settings window where I choose Mercury Playback settings, the drop-down menu is disabled and it says software only. The GPUs needed drivers when I was running Snow Leopard, but I didn’t need to load any drivers when I switched to Lion. Can anyone tell me how I can get CS5.5 to recognize my GPUs?

    Mac Pro 3,1
    OS X Lion 10.7.5
    2 2.8GHz Quad-Core
    16GB RAM
    2 Quadro 4000 GPUs

    Thanks

    Hi Rob,

Not a Mac guy so can’t advise on drivers, but I will mention that CS5.5 cannot use multiple GPUs, can only use one card for Mercury GPU Acceleration.

    Thanks

    Hey,

Thanks for responding. I figured it out actually. I did indeed have to install a driver, specifically the Cuda driver.

Premiere is now recognizing the card, although, I don’t know how to tell if it’s utilizing one or both. Either way, I’m pretty sure Resolve can utilize both, which is why I got 2.

So I’m good to go now. Thanks 🙂
