CS5 won’t open the project “no sequence preview preset..”
Hi,
It seems that now, after upgrading to CS5, I’m dealing with a lot of problems:
I was working on a project with 7D files (I made a custom preset sequence because of the trial version limitations) and I imported a sequence from another project because I needed it and the original cs3 project would open only through dynamic link. All was well until premiere crashed. When I tried to reopen the project, I got this message:
“The project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type.”
I then created a new project in which I imported the previous one. I could only get my sequence as a whole clip (no cuts, no nothing, just a massive clip and the sound imported only from one track.) I managed to re-edit everything and stood up all night rendering for preview (15 min of 7D files with some transitions and color corrections). And just before going to export, premiere crashed again. Guess what, the project wouldn’t open, giving me the same message. So I was again importing the sequence into a new project. I have to render all again.
Now, back in school, I learned that you must render before exporting. Is it really that way? Can’t I just hit export? (I’m exporting to H264).
Also, does anyone know why is this happening? It drives me crazy, I’m way over my deadline and I haven’t been sleeping because of this problem. Is it maybe because I didn’t install cs5 the proper way? (I mention that I’m on a Mac, if that is relevant).
Thanks,
Diana
