CS5 no longer recognizes spanned clips
I’ve been working on a project for quite some time now. A lot of it is just long registration of classes. This involves a lot of spanned clips.
For the past 6 months Premiere has edited these files without problem but since yesterday, the spanned clips from the P2 camera are just seperate files to PPro. The footage on the timeline is offline because of this. This seems like a bug. Has anyone else encountered this?

Are you importing the spanned clips via the Media Browser? That is what is recommended.

I did not. I just looked inside my contents folder and I saw that my XML files were missing. Don’t know where they went but I think that’s why PPro won’t import them as spanned clips. Guess it’s time for a re-edit.

Actually, you don’t have to do anything. Just find the extra clips that are the exact same length and remove them.
If you import P2 from the VIDEO folder, you’ll get multiple spanned clips. Used to do this all the time, just remove from the bins the ones with the same length (and the ones that aren’t used in your timeline). Shouldn’t effect your edit.
Use Media Browser from now on, though. It works great.
