CS5 creates multiple peak (.pek) files!?
I am experiencing a weird issue – everytime I launch an existing project in PPro CS5 the program starts generating peak files. Time and again, each with a nice increment of one. Tried finding a solution in the forums, but to no avail.
Anyone experiencing the same issue and, better yet, know how to solve it?

Close Premiere, then try deleting the media cache folder all together. Finally, go the preferences > media and delete the cache.

I had this problem when working with Cineform files. For me the solution was to go to the Preferences settings in the project and under the Media option un-check the box next to “Write XMP ID to Files on Import”

I am also experiencing this issue and am also working with CS5. I tried your suggestion, but it’s not working. I know it’s been some time since you’ve dealt with this, but do you have any other impressions when it comes to this constant generation of peak files? It’s wasting so much time.
