    Hi,

Premeier CS4 has been acting much less than friendly for me for editing wedding videos. CS4 has a terrible problem playing back footage, its choppy and laggy and honestly un-editble.

We have many weddings scattered across numerious external HP personal media drives that we connect through bays on our PCs.
The footage only seems to be effected when we use these drives, it seems to play fine when another type of external drive is connected, or played from the computors HDD.

These HP Drives worked fine for editing in CS3, and they meet the requirments it says on the box (7,200 RPM drive) anyone knows whats going on and how I can fix this?

    Thanks

USB external drives on XP (Sp2) could be connected at USB 1.0 speed instead of 2.0.
Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers in Device Manager; you should see one-“Intel(R) 82801EB USB2 Enhanced Host Controller- 24DD”
If not, right click on one the USB 1 Host controller and choose Update Driver.
