CS4 shows over 3 hrs in timeline for 2 hrs of footage. WTF?
I just bought the JVC HM700 and shot a bunch of footage at 1280x720p 59.94fps HQ setting. (default for 720p)
well I just put about 2 hr and 15 minute of footage in the time line and it showed up as 3 hrs and 15 minutes…. have any idea why the timeline says an hour more than it should??
it looks like I picked the right sequence settings… none of the footage says it needs to be rendered.What is wrong? or is it just displaying wrong?

I don’t know why but it seems the camera made 2 separate files names of identical footage for 3 of the clips– which accounted for the extra hour in the timeline.
so how or why this camera did it would be nice to know.. I will have to exam the SDHC cards and the files on them to see what happened. I guess this is more of a camera thing than a PPro thing.side note:

I think these were spanned clips. I don’t know much about the JVC, but most cameras will create a new file after 4GB (if a single take exceeds that size) due to the file system used on the card, the same name is used so that the software used to import them can piece them back together in one clip automatically.
If you dragged them out manually instead, you may have ended up with duplicate clips.
I would look at the Premiere help file and see how they recommend importing these particular files.
