I’ve lost audio from several of my projects that I moved from one hard drive to another (I didn’t use Project Manager. I had to move things in a hurry to back them up before a drive went completely bad). I can restore the video clip audio by “Interpret Footage” (a tedious process at best) but can’t find a way to restore the .wav files. I’m guessing this is a media cache problem. Is there a way to easily rebuild the cache for an entire project short of clip by clip by clip?

It depends on how your preferences are setup.

In CS4 / Vista, you may have to first go into control panel > Folder options > View and enable show hidden files and folders.

    Then navigate to:

    C:\Users\{your user name}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Pro\4.0

You’ll find your media cache in there.

    Thanks, Vince.
I can find the Media Cache, but I think what is happening is that since I bounced the project files (including the preview files) to different hard drives, the data base no longer knows where to find the .cfa files. So if I’m understanding what happens under the hood in the Adobe products, I think what I’m looking for is a way to globally update the Media Cache for a project. I can do it clip by clip by either interpreting the footage or replacing the file with the same file, but that is a tedious process.

    Again, thanks for the help.
