After a huge number of tech issues, I have been able to complete an edit of a feature film we have been working on for a while. I am not an editor, so have a limited knowledge of CS4 but I’m not a n00b.

Anyways, we had been working on a previous uncompressed AVI export which was around 320gb in size. Because of some issues, we could not use the original project file and had to work from the uncompressed AVI.

I have made a few changes and am now looking to export again…uncompressed. But, every time I do that, the file size gets markedly smaller. Even with deepest rendering, uncompressed avi, and all the settings set to maximum…I’m still losing a MINIMUM of 70gb of data on the export. Sometimes up to 100gb depending on some settings.

I’m just after something that will let me export at around the same size as the original file…that would please me immensely!

I’m exporting from Premiere to Media encoder with all the max settings. Is there something I am missing?

Any help would be a LIFESAVER!

    Thanks

    Christian

    Hi Christian,

Simply select Microsoft AVI, set compression to none. That should be it. It’s possible that the orginal files had other information, or even Alpha channel enabled, which would add to the size.
