CS4 Codec Support?
So I need to open DV and HDV files in Premiere. I have just install Adobe Premiere on a fresh install of Windows XP. Virtually every file I attempt to open in Premiere gives me a format not supported error.
Where do I get the commonly used codecs (DV, HDV, MPEG2ts, H.264, H.263 etc) from and how do I get Adobe Premiere to recognize them?

It sounds like you’re running the software in demo mode…as soon as you put in a serial number it will add the codecs.

Actually that’s not the case, I have entered the serial number and the product appears to be properly activated. However, I did not register with Adobe. Surely that’s not required for the codecs?

“Registering” as in providing a ton of info isn’t required, but the machine with the software has to be on the internet and ‘activate’ the serial number…then the codecs should download and install.
